• General description (mechanism of action): This supplement is used to prevent or treat low blood calcium levels in people who do not get enough calcium in their diet or to treat diseases caused by low calcium levels such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia/rickets, decreased parathyroid gland activity (hypoparathyroidism) and a certain muscle disease (latent tetany).
