Vitamin C + Zinc Slow Release Capsules 10 mg in a pack of 60
• General description (Mechanism of action): Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin and antioxidant. This vitamin is not made in the body and must be supplied only through food and other sources. Good sources of vitamin C include fresh fruits and vegetables, especially citrus fruits. Vitamin C is used for proper growth and function of the body, maintaining immune function, and also increases the absorption of zinc. Zinc (zinc) is a mineral. It is an “essential trace element”. Since zinc is not produced or stored in the human body, it must be consumed regularly as part of the diet. Common food sources of zinc include red meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, nuts, legumes, and whole grains. Zinc deficiency is common worldwide. Zinc deficiency can cause decreased immunity, decreased appetite, hair loss, dry skin, short stature, decreased sense of smell and taste, impaired testicular and ovarian function, slow wound healing, blood clotting problems, thyroid problems, decreased insulin levels, diarrhea and nausea, decreased vision, and more. Zinc deficiency is common in vegetarians, people with malabsorption syndrome, in severe diarrhea, after surgery, in alcoholics, and in chronic diseases including kidney and liver disease.
